  • How does NSHD serve the North Shore?

    The North Shore Health Department has several programs with services available to residents of the North Shore. Our programs include Environmental Health (licensing/inspections, lead, rabies), Disease Prevention & Control (vaccine clinic, disease surveillance/intervention), Maternal & Child Health (newborn home visits, breastfeeding support, car seat fittings, safe sleep education, bike helmet fittings, parent support groups), Public Health Emergency Preparedness (severe weather, infectious disease outbreaks, volunteer management, preparedness drills/exercises), Harm Reduction/Community Outreach (naloxone training/distribution, fall prevention, community events)

  • Do you have COVID-19 tests?

    We no longer provide COVID-19 tests. Our nurses recommend that if you have symptoms that align with COVID-19 to stay home, and avoid social gatherings until symptoms relieve. If you have a fever, stay home until fever has been gone for at least 24 hours. If you have trouble breathing, a persistent fever, increased coughing and fatigue, seek urgent care.

  • Does your vaccine clinic accept walk-ins?

    We will accept walk-ins if a nurse is available but we would prefer a scheduled appointment. Visit our Vaccine Clinic page to schedule an appointment.

  • Can NSHD help me with mold?

    If you have concerns about mold in your rental property, please refer to the list of options below:

  • Who can utilize NSHD's Vaccine Clinic?

    We are a Vaccines for Children (VFC) and Adults (VFA) provider, which means that our routine vaccines are reserved for the following populations:

    • Children through 18 years of age (under 19) who meet one of the following:

      • American Indian/Alaska Native

      • Medicaid-enrolled/eligible

      • Uninsured

    • Adults who are uninsured or whose insurance does not cover vaccines (underinsured).
