Board of Health
The North Shore Board of Health, with representatives from each of the seven North Shore communities (Bayside, Brown Deer, Fox Point, Glendale, River Hills, Shorewood, and Whitefish Bay) helps guide the work of the North Shore Health Department (NSHD). In addition to these community representatives, a medical advisor also serves on the Board.
The Board plays an important advisory role as stewards of public health. As representatives of the community, members provide guidance, support public health efforts, and help ensure that the departments work is grounded in the priorities, values, and well-being of the people it deserves.
Board members are appointed for two-year terms and are selected based on their interest or experience in public or community health.

Meetings are held at least quarterly and are open to the public.
Together, the Board and Health Department work to promote fair and healthy outcomes for everyone in the North Shore.

Lobby Access: If the lobby door is locked when you arrive, please give us a moment to let you in. The entryway buzzer connects to the fire station, not the health department. Our staff will be watching for attendees and will open the door for them.
